Frequently Asked Questions

Who can become a DTA Tuning Partner?
The DTA Tuning Partner Program is designed for automotive businesses looking to expand their services and generate additional revenue through ECU tuning. Applications are welcome from mechanical workshops, diesel specialists, 4WD centres, performance workshops and auto electricians that own or have access to a chassis dyno.

Do I need my own tuning tools?
No. DTA can supply the ECU reading and flashing equipment and show you how to use it. Your workshop will still need a chassis dyno, a current laptop, a stable 12-volt power supply for ECU programming and a good-quality diagnostic scan tool.

I don't currently own tuning equipment. Can I still apply?
Absolutely. Many partners begin without ECU reading or flashing equipment. DTA can supply the equipment, provide setup guidance and train you to use it confidently.

What does it cost to become a DTA Tuning Partner?
There are no ongoing franchise fees or expensive dealer licence costs. Partners receive access to wholesale dealer pricing designed to deliver attractive margins while remaining competitive in their local market. A yearly subscription fee is required to keep some tuning equipment up to date. Contact our team to discuss pricing and expected volumes.

How quickly are files delivered?
We aim to provide each tune file within one hour, helping minimise vehicle downtime and keep your workshop moving.

What support do I receive as a DTA Tuning Partner?
Our dealer network is backed by experienced technical support. Whether you need help with an installation, fault diagnosis, tuning request or vehicle-specific advice, our team is available to assist throughout the tuning process.

What happens if a vehicle develops a fault after tuning?
Simply provide our technical support team with the vehicle information, fault codes and read files. We'll work with you to diagnose the issue and provide a solution as quickly as possible. Ongoing dealer support is a core part of the DTA Partner Program.

Do I need a dyno?
Yes. You must own or have access to a chassis dyno to become a DTA Tuning Partner. A dyno is required to check vehicle health, validate tuning results and provide customers with accurate before-and-after performance data. It also helps partners deliver a professional and transparent customer experience.

What vehicles can I tune?
DTA provides solutions for a large range of diesel-powered vehicles, including popular 4WDs, utes, SUVs, light commercial vehicles and fleet vehicles commonly found throughout Australia.

Can I offer tuning under my own workshop brand?
Yes. As a DTA Tuning Partner, you have the option to promote the tuning services through your own business brand while benefiting from the support, experience and resources of the Diesel Tune Australia network. Alternatively, you can promote through the DTA brand and receive additional social media and marketing support.

Is training provided?
Yes. We’ll help you get set up, show you how the equipment and file-request process work, and provide ongoing technical support so you can confidently offer ECU tuning services to your customers.

Are exclusive territories available?
Territory protection may be available to selected dealers, helping them establish themselves as the recognised DTA representative in their local area.
